Government of Nepal has received grant and loan, assistance from International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) towards the cost of High Value Agriculture Project in Hill and Mountain Areas (HVAP). Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MoAC) is the main executing organizatitm of the project. Netherlands Development Organization - SNV and Agro-Enterprise Center/federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AEC/FNCCI) are the main implementing partners of project, The project is in implementation since 2010/11 with duration of six years.
The overall goal of the project is to reduce poverty and vulnerability of women and men in hill and mountain areas of the Mid-Western Development Region. The project will cover 10 districts along the Chhinchu-Jajarkot, Surkhet, Dailekh and Surkhet Jumla {Karnali Highway) road corridors. The project districts are Surkhet, Dailekh, Salyan, Jajarkot, Kalikot, Jumla, Humla, Mugu and Dolpa of Mid-Western Development Region and Achharn district of For Western Development Region.
