Position: Intern
Project: DFID-GIZ – Risk Management Office
Working period: August 2012 – January 2013
Reports to: Operations Manager
Job Location: Kathmandu

Aged between: 20 to 30 years
Experience:  Not required
Remuneration: Minimal

Educational Qualification:


  • Bachelor degree completed at sociology/ political science/ development studies.
Job Specifications:
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and team player ability
  • Willingness to travel to field (outside Kathmandu) as and when necessary
  • Good knowledge of English and Nepali – both spoken and written (essential)
  • MS office package (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint), Internet and email use (essential)

Job Description:
Under technical supervision of the Principal Advisor and in close cooperation with the team members,
  • Support general office operations and processes: coordinate and organize meetings/appointments, deal with venders/stakeholders, prepare documents, maintain, arrange and file inventories as well as absence and travel lists.
  • Assist with other regular functions of the Risk Management Office, such as information collation, compilation of daily/weekly/monthly reports, record keeping of reports, incidents as well as training preparation.
  • Other jobs assigned by supervisor/seniors.
Objective of the internship:

The intern will benefit from the experience of working for and learning from a bilateral technical cooperation agency and its collaboration with several state and non-state actors in the area of supporting Risk Management services.
