CARE Nepal is an international humanitarian organization working in the country for the past 37 years. CARE Nepal invites applications from interested candidates for the following positions, based in Kathmandu, in response to the Nepal Mega Earthquake.As a humanitarian organization CARE is providing immediate support in the affected areas and requires dynamic and committed individuals to help the organisation provide relief and response.
1. Deputy Team Leader - Shelter
Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Structural or civil engineer with a minimum of 7 years experience in construction with at least 2 years' experience in humanitarian aid or development. Suitable qualification in Architecture, Planning, Structural or Civil Engineering. Experience can substitute for qualifications but not vice versa
2. Gender in Emergencies Advisor
Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Masters or advanced degree in a relevant subject area with at least 3 years of experience in medium-large scale emergencies. Familiar with humanitarian programming and inter-agency coordination systems and ability to communicate ideas in a culturally-sensitive manner and conducive to their practical application.
