NGO Job Vacancy - KIRDARC Nepal

KIRDARC Nepal is an NGO dedicated to uphold the rights of marginalised and excluded communities through its interventions on Human Rights, Democracy and Good Governance with especial focus on building capacities of right holders, duty bearers and civil society contributing to inclusive growth and fair development. It works with a vision for a just and prosperous society with people having access to and ownership over resources and opportunities. 

It has been implementing "Functionality of Rural Water Supply Services (FRWSS)" programme in 3 districts (Dolpa, Jumla and Kalikot) in partnership with SNV Nepal. The overall goal of the programme is to establish mechanisms, processes (governance) and enhance capacities of operator, implementers, and private sector actors for delivering quality services during pre and post construction support mechanisms. 

POSITION: Functionality Specialist / Expert: 1 (Based in Jumla and Surkhet)

Major Responsibilities: This position will be overall responsible to provide technical/thematic support to districts for devising and operationalizing local process and mechanisms facilitating the multi-stakeholders processes; lead to consolidate synergic WASH campaign (particularly in functionality) in the region with support from different funding partners and other likeminded agencies; ensure quality of overall programme as per the agreed standards, quality criteria and values of the organization; generate lessons and models for future up-scaling/replication. 


Qualification and Key Competencies: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 3-5 years professional experience in gravity-fed water supply system related project designing and implementation (Diploma Engineers with 7-9 years of experience); Facilitation skills for Multi-Stakeholders Process/platform; have in-depth understanding of national, international policies and program on WASH (functionality); excellent coordination, communication and interpersonal skills (team building and team work) with key stakeholders at project and national level. Very good skills and knowledge in documentation and reporting in English and Nepali. Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. and Pro-active, innovative, willingness and committed stay and travel in the remote areas to work with poor and vulnerable communities and to guide team members.
