Job Vacancy - Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Project

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Project on Strengthening the Capacity of Investment Development & Promotion Unit at Investment Board Nepal (hereinafter referred as the "JICA Project") invites applications from interested and qualified Nepali candidates for the following position.

Job Position: Project Assistant (Consultant)

Application Deadline: 10th June, 2015

1. Background Based upon the request by the Government of Nepal, the JICA Project was launched at the Office of the Investment Board (hereinafter referred as the "Board") in March 2014 to increase the Board's capacity in mobilizing foreign investment and enhancing the functions of investor services and investment promotion with duration of three years as Japanese technical cooperation. To assist the JICA Project, the Project Assistant shall work to support the JICA project expert (the Foreign Investment Advisor) already dispatched at the Board, as well as to provide assistance for duties of the Investment Development & Promotion Unit (hereinafter referred as the "Unit"), which was established in March 2015 under the Board. 

2. Contents of Work 
(1) Assist various daily administrative duties of the Unit; 
(2) Assist the JICA project expert on daily administrative duties, which include scheduling, travel arrangements, document filing, accounting documents, etc; 
(3) Conduct basic research and analysis, as well as collect information on investment climate and investment promotional activities (both domestic and international); 
(4) Support arranging seminars, workshops, video conferences and meetings;
(5) Translate documents and conversation during the seminars, workshops and other activities (from Nepali to English and vice versa); 
(6) Others activities as directed by the JICA project expert and the members of the Unit. 

3. Qualification Requirements 
(1) Two to Three years of working experiences in the relevant field and job functions; 
(2) At least bachelor's degree in related field. Education or work experiences in foreign countries are highly appreciated; 
(3) Research and information gathering skills;
(4) Excellent skills in speaking and writing both Nepali and English (strongly required); 
(5) Attention to detail, and strong commitment to deadline; 
(6) Excellent communication skills, and ability to network with stakeholders of the JICA Project (governmental agencies, foreign and domestic companies, business supporting organizations, development partners, etc.); 
(7) Intermediate-level competency of computer (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, E-mail, Digital Camera, etc.); 
(8) Ability of understanding Japanese language is a plus; 
(9) Women and candidates from marginalized communities are encouraged to apply. 

4. Salary & Benefits Salary and other benefits will be in accordance with the guideline of the JICA Project. 

5. Consulting Period From 1St July 2015 to 30th June, 2016. (The contract may be updated as per the requirement of the JICA Project in the end of June, 2016). 

6.
