WWF Nepal, the global conservation organization leading international efforts for a living planet, seeks applications from qualified Nepali candidates for the following full-time position based in Pokhara.
The Hariyo Ban Program is a USAID funded five-year initiative implemented in Terai Arc and Chitwan-Annapurna landscapes, running from August 2011 to August 2016. The program aims at reducing the adverse impacts of climate change and threats to biodiversity in Nepal and is implemented by four consortium partners. Hariyo Ban has three thematic components (biodiversity conservation; sustainable landscapes and climate adaptation) and three cross-cutting themes (livelihoods; governance; and gender and social inclusion). The Program also works in payments for ecosystem services, particularly REDD+. Job Position: Program Officer - Payment for Ecosystem Services
Qualifications: Bachelors (preferably Masters) degree in Forestry, environmental science or related field with a sound knowledge of Payments for Ecosystem Services. Candidate should have a strong knowledge on natural resource management, land use and integrated watershed management. Strong facilitation skills with at least 5 years of experience in PES related field is highly desirable.
