Job Description
1) To supervise the Local Cheque Clearing functions of the unit and to perform the necessary authorizations/checks on the processing.
2) To ensure that the established service standards are met.
3) To provide support to all products and services assigned to the team.
4) To maintain all required controls and procedures
5) To maintain a positive working relationship with personnel of the other units of the department.
6) ORMA
To undertake periodic self-assessment on key controls to assess the proper functioning and adequacy of existing controls.
Assist in coordinating, facilitating and promoting understanding of operational risk and in implementation and management of OR within the Unit.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1) Processing Standards
Ensure that processing capabilities are geared up to achieve accuracy as per the Service Level standards  and strive to exceed the standards.
2) Operational Efficiency
Ensure that the personnel of the unit are adhering to the procedures set in the Operating Manuals in order to achieve optimum efficiency in the conduct of their jobs. Handle exceptions from the norms and initiate corrective and preventive actions.
3) In-house Service standards
Ensure that all queries related to routine activities are responded to within the time frames pre-specified.
4) Performance Evaluation
To set up objectives for evaluating the performance of the direct reports and measure the performance on a regular basis.
5) Morale
To promote an environment where all staff develop a sense of involvement in the conduct of their regular work and contribute ideas with the objective of achieving excellence in service quality.
6) Escalation
Keep HCO or Sr. Manager CMO advised of the exceptional occurrences, to enable appropriate action.
7) Compliance
Ensure that all laid down procedures, Central Bank regulation and Key Control Standards are adequately followed.
8) Q12
Ensure effective follow through of Q12 Impact Plan and assist Sr Manager to report progress of the same to Office of HR on a quarterly basis.
9) Reporting
Keep HCO/Sr. Manager, Cash Ops advised of the regular operations of the unit.
10) CDD and Anti Money Laundering
Ensure timely understanding and compliance with all the applicable regulations of the Bank, group and Country including Money Laundering Prevention and CDD.


11) Adhoc Responsibilities
Carry out any special tasks or projects that may be required from time to time as assigned by HCO/Sr. Manager Cash Operations by fully adhering to the procedures laid down in the corresponding procedure manual and following all the necessary regulations and guidelines.
12) Health and Safety
Responsible for the health and safety aspects within your area of control
Ensure that team members are adequately trained and supervised to perform their tacks in a safe manner
Ensure that team members are free to raise any Health and safety issues and these issues are addressed appropriately
Ensure that the contractors working in own area or working for the team, work in a safe & healthy manner.
Take reasonable care for the health and safety of co-workers and those who may be affected by own actions or omissions.
Co-operate with Management to support and promote Health and safety in the workplace
Ensure that own actions do not put others at risk
Work in a healthy and safe manner
Encourage others to work in a healthy and safe manner
Report all accidents* and incidents**; and
Bring to the attention of the management any hazard in the workplace
13) ORMA
To report Unit’s OR issues and losses to UORM
To assist UORM in developing and updating of procedures, controls and monitoring plans for Operational Risk Management
Act as cross functional RP if required for the unit
To adhere to the agreed KCSA plans and approach and submit checks in Optial as per the schedule.
To identify and report all exceptions on non compliance with standard controls
To identify and report all weakness inherent in the standard controls
To maintain proper record keeping in al KCSA related activities
To maintain independence in the conduct of KCSA, i.e. not selecting and reviewing sample of self-performed transactions

Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum Bachelors Degree.
- Ability to work with bare minimum supervision
- Good leadership skills.
- Very Good analytical and communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Team Player.
- Sound knowledge of the Clearing function of the country.
