Officer Job Vacancy - Mercy Corps (for UKaid funded project )

MERCY CORPS works in Nepal to protect strengthen and expand resilience strategies and opportunities among the poor and disadvantaged through economic, financial and risk management programs. Mercy Corps began operations in Nepal in 2005, and since then has implemented projects in the sectors of economic and food security; climate, natural resource and disaster risk management; youth engagement; with the inclusion of women and disadvantaged groups as important cross-cutting themes throughout each intervention area.

Supporting the Education of Marginalised Girls in Kailali (STEM) STEM is a 2 years, program funded by the UK Government, focused on marginalized girls in the Far Western Region of Nepal to Enrol in school, Learn and pass exams, and begin to Earn their way from school to work. The STEM program will enable 9,398 marginalised Dalit and Janajati girls ages 10-16.

Mercy Corps Nepal invites applications from interested candidates for the below position:  

JOB TITLE: MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER -1 
WORK STATION: Based in Kathmandu

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: 7 October 2013

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will work directly with the project team and partner institutions to help execute STEM monitoring and evaluating system, reporting and communications needs. The M&E Officer will be directly responsible for supporting the collection and documentation of intervention results, knowledge management and collaborating on any research and learning studies. The M&E Officer will also support Program Manager for meeting reporting requirements and serve as the program focal person for all activities related to monitoring and results measurement including knowledge management and communications.  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor degree in management, statistics, economics, social science or related field. At least 3 years experience in monitoring and evaluation of education, livelihoods, and value chain development programs, strong team coordination, listening, and consensus building skills, good understanding and skills at data management strong computer skills in MS Office programs. Excellent oral and written English/Nepali skills
