Himal Power Limited (HPL) is a jointly owned operation of SN Power, BKK, and Butwal Power Company Limited. HPL is headquartered in Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur and owns and operates 60MW Khimti I Hydropower Plant situated 175km east of Kathmandu. HPL is seeking a high-calibre and experienced individual to fill the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with the overall responsibility for Financial Reporting & Control, Procurement and oversight of Human Resource Development in the company.

The CFO is stationed at Kathmandu and reports to the General Manager of HPL. The CFO forms part of the Company's top management team and is responsible for financial management as well as accounting and reporting to stakeholders on all financial matters. The role includes leadership of the finance team consisting of four professionals within the area of finance, accounting, procurement and treasury. Other responsibilities include overseeing of policies and procedures for corporate governance and financial stewardship related to the Company's activities. The CFO will be given a specific responsibility to oversee human resource development in the company, including overseeing remuneration and succession planning. With HPL being a subsidiary of the SN Power Group headquartered in Oslo, Norway, the CFO will also act as a liaison between the HPL and SN Power's corporate finance structure in matters relating to accounting, financial reporting and control, forecasting and corporate governance, as well as with Corporate HR.
We are looking for a candidate meeting the following requirements:
A. Min 10 years of experience from financial management, accounting/audit or similar experience from managing financial reporting in mid-size enterprises (preferably international).
B. Working experience from interacting with Nepal's financial institutions, such as Nepal Rastra Bank, SEBON, Commercial Banks and relevant ministries/departments. Experience from working in an international context is a benefit.
C. Fluency in written and oral English is an absolute requirement.
D. Chartered Accountant degree, preferably in combination with MBA or Master of Finance. Well acquainted with accounting standards and IFRS.
E. Proven ability to engage with employees in a respectful and constructive manner.
F. Team player with sense for details; remain calm under pressure; true to commitments; not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get the job done; analytical, persistent and energetic.
G. Proven track record; demonstrating high professional standards, integrity and undisputable business ethics.
