Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has reduced the load-shedding to 34 hours from 43 hours a week with effect from July 3, 2013 (Ashadh 19, 2070). As per the new schedule, Nepalese people will have to live in darkness for 4.5 and 5 hours for three days each and 5.5 hours for a day in a week.
