The International Organization for Migration is seeking qualified Nepali Nationals for the following position based in Kathmandu.

Classification: Grade 5
Type of Contract: Special, six months with possibility of extension

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of Program Coordinator, the incumbent's responsibilities will include the following.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the program coordinator in overall management, monitoring and coordination of the DRR projects.
Research, compile, summarize and present information/data on relevant Disaster management and Camp Coordination Camp Management (CCCM).
Assist in the designing, planning, implementing and facilitating of internal and external trainings, meetings and events for numerous target groups.
Participate in assessments and evaluations in the different project phases and in developing implementation plans based on the data found and lessons learned.
Assist in the development of tools and methodologies for the preparation a National Strategy on Debris Management.
Prepare periodic reports to donors on program delivery, including interim and final reports to donors on budgetary expenditure and results, in coordination with the program coordinator.
Assist in the liaison and coordination with the Inter Agency Standing Committee (IASC), Ministry of Home Affairs and relevant line ministries, government agencies, civil society and International organizations.
Undertake duty travel relating to project/program activities, as required.
Assist in the identification of new program/project possibilities consistent with expressed Government needs, IOM’s mandate and strategy in Nepal; on this basis, support in the development of proposals.
Support in the development and/or contextualization of training aids and information tools ranging from posters, short manuals, and brochures incl. easy-to-understand layout and content development in close coordination with the relevant stakeholders.
Assist in the coordination of the technical assistance and maintain liaison with the Government of Nepal and other relevant counterparts to meet project objectives.
Perform and assist with any other activities/duties that may be assigned by the Chief of Mission and program coordinator.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND COMPETENCIES:

Bachelor’s degree is required.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Works effectively with local authorities, stakeholders, beneficiaries, and the broader community to advance country or regional objectives.
Plans work, anticipates risks, and sets goals within area of responsibility.
Displays mastery of subject matter.
