Director and Officer Job Vacancy - Clean Energy Nepal

Clean Energy Nepal (CEN) is an independent and nonprofit organization established in 2000. CEN conducts research based education and advocacy campaigns, public policy recommendations and pilot implementation programs on issues related to sustainable energy use and environmental conservation.  (CEN) announces the call for applications for the following positions.

JOB POSITION: Program Director
LOCATION: Kathmandu, Nepal

JOB POSITION: Project Officer - 1 Position
LOCATION: Kathmandu, Nepal

DURATION: 10 months (with possibility of extension)

For Program Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
Clean Energy Nepal (CEN) is currently seeking to hire a Program Director to lead the organization to achieve its goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Program Director will be responsible for the following activities:
• Provide leadership and strategic guidance to the organization
• Provide leadership and guidance to the programs of CEN: Clean Air, Energy and
Climate Change and Water and Sanitation
• Ensure that organization is well governed through effective management of all on-
going projects as well as available human and financial resources
• Seek opportunities for the development of the organization
• Coordinating with donors and other partners
• Develop and implement the sustainability strategy of the organization
• Strengthen networks and represent the organization in meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s degree in Environment, Engineering, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, and other related field
• At least 5 years experience in the related field
COMPETIENCIES:
• Dynamic and strategic leadership capabilities and the ability to define and execute goals to realize the mission of Clean Energy Nepal
• Sound understanding of environment issues in national and international context including the main actors, strategies and policies
• Experience in developing and overseeing large scale projects funded by international organizations and foundations
• Proven leadership skills and track record of leading a highly motivated team of staffs
• Ability to work independently, regularly take initiative to drive the organization towards
continued growth and success.
• Multi-tasking, prioritization, and time management skills
• Excellent communication, proposal writing, report writing and documentation skills.
• Excellent networking skills, partnership building and ability to maintain relations with
diverse individuals, government agencies and organizations
• Strong command of written and verbal English and Nepali language

For  Project Officer
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking highly motivated and skilled person to join CEN and assist implementing climate change projects supported by OXFAM in Nepal.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Project Officer will be responsible for the following activities:
• Report directly to Project Coordinator and maintain close coordination with CEN staffs.
• Should be flexible to travel as and when required.
• Assist the project team to plan, execute, implement and monitor the project activities & its progress.
• Organize workshops, meetings, seminars, trainings and other responsibilities as required by the projects
• Support the project coordinator to prepare quality narrative reports

QUALIFICATIONS:
• At least Bachelor Degree in Economics, Environment Science, Development Studies, Social Work or any other relevant field.
• At least 2 years of experience in relevant sector COMPETENCIES:
• Experience in advocacy and campaign works
• Skills to support on research works
• Strong inter-personal and communication skills to work as a part of a team.
• Strong command of written and verbal English and Nepali language.
• Willingness for sustained field work.
• Sound understanding of climate change context in Nepal including the main actors, strategies and policies
• Experience and knowledge of project cycle management and partnership management
• Knowledge and skills of participatory planning, monitoring and evaluation
• Excellent communication, networking, report writing and documentation skills.
