CEAPRED has been implementing the "Vegetable Seed Project - Phase III" with financial support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Dailekh, Jajarkot, Surkhet, Salyan, Kavre, Ramechhap, Okhaldhunga, Khotang, Rukum, Parbat, Myagdi, Dolpa, Kalikot and Achham districts of Nepal. The goal of the project is to contribute to improved sustainable livelihoods of people living in remote rural areas of Nepal focusing on disadvantaged groups and women. In this context. the Center announces this advertisement notice to fill up one position of District Coordinator in Kavre District.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: Under the supervision of Project Team Leader, the incumbent will have to perform the following tasks:
• Take a lead role in planning, implementing and monitoring the project activities in the district Organize seed production and marketing programs by identifying the production areas,
• selecting households, setting targets. promoting crops and varieties based on market demand in collaboration with seed cooperatives. District Agriculture Development Office
• (DADO), seed companies and agro-vets. Manage field team. prepare and contribute to district plan, perform outcome based monitoring.
• prepare reports and work with local governments.
Technical Competencies:
B.Sc. Ag (preferably elective in horticulture) having minimum 1 year of experience in vegetable seed production or related field. The candidate should have experience in conducting farmer training/workshop, preparing case studies and working in remote areas with extensive field travel. good report writing and computer skills. Master degree in Agriculture (Horticulture) will be an added advantage.
Social Competencies:
Able to work independently and under pressure, willing to accept a wide spectrum of tasks, able to coordinate and collaborate with government line agencies and non-government organizations. sensitive in areas of gender and social inclusion, good management and communication skills, able to work with multidisciplinary team and diversified groups of people having different cultural and religious background.
Salaries and benefits will commensurate with CEAPRED's admin and finance rules.
