VSO Nepal is implementing “Promoting Quality and Inclusive Education for
Out-of-Reach Children in Nepal”
project funded by the European Commission.
VSO
Nepal invites dynamic and qualified Nepali citizens to apply for the position
of Volunteer and Operations Support Officer based in its country office in Kathmandu. Reporting to the Impact and Operations
Manager, the Volunteer and Operations Support Officer is responsible for
providing quality services to volunteers and coordinate the logistics function
within VSO Nepal.
Major Responsibilities:
Front Desk Management: Welcome visitors and handle all incoming calls, fax and mails.
Volunteer Support: Act as first point of call for volunteers’ logistic needs and proactively communicate to volunteers on administrative and security matters. Coordinate logistic support during in-country induction, maintain up-to-date volunteer information and files and monitor assets and inventory of VSO volunteer supplies and equipment. .
IT service: Manage electronic files, ensure that all information held in the office network is safe, maintain inventory of all electronic items and ensure quality instant support from provider on IT and network issue.
Logistic / Secretarial Support: Provide secretarial and typing support, organize air ticket, transport and accommodation booking and maintain up-to date information and produce weekly e-news letter.
Other Duties: Fulfil other appropriate level responsibilities as defined by the Impact and Operations Manager.
Essential Qualifications Required:
Essential
• Bachelors degree in relevant subject or intermediate level with several years of experience in similar capacity
• Proven experiences working in diverse, multicultural team
• Fluent in English and Nepali language (written and speaking)
• Excellent computer skills (Windows, Excel, Power Point)
• Demonstrable commitment to delivering excellent, focused and efficient, customer care and service
• Able to manage time and tight schedules, working effectively under pressure
• Clear varied and sensitive communication skills, both oral and written with confidence in communicating with a wide range of audiences, both internally and externally
• Practical commitment to VSO’s values including demonstrated cross cultural sensitivity and commitment to diversity and openness to learning.
Desirable:
• Experience of working with International volunteers.
• Clean driving license
• Knowledge and skills on IT networking/ hard and software application and trouble shooting
• Experience working with international NGOs
