Enhancing Access to Financial Services Project (EAFS) is a joint project of the Nepal Rastra sank (Central Bank of Nepal), UNCDF and UNDP..The project supports the efforts of 18 financial institutions in scaling up, deepening and broadening the outreach to remote areas and low income households (especially poor youth and excluded groups), in a sustainable fashion. By 2012, with the funding and technical support from UNCDF and UNDP, the project efforts will lead to additional 330,000 unbanked individuals joining the financial sector.
As a part of its financial literacy strategy, NRB - EAFS plans to produce financial literacy training manual and disseminate financial education to low income users in Nepal. EAFS project purchased financial education materials from the Global Financial Education Program (GFEP) and looking for an experienced national consultant with a strong track record in training manual design to adapt GFEP financial literacy training manuals in the Nepalese context based on research previously conducted by the project.
