Chemonics International Inc.,a leading international consulting firm based in Washington D.C., seeks a professional to provide short term assistance, as a Fertilizer Sector Specialist, for the USW funded Nepal Economic, Agriculture, and Trade Activity.The Fertilizer Sector Specialist will work in NEAT's Kathmandu office and travel throughout Nepal as required supporting NEAT's fertilizer study.
The Fertilizer specialist will provide technical support to a local subcontractor conducting a fertilizer demand survey and will support the lead international fertilizer consultant in data analysis, conducting research and policy analysis, and developing policy options and recommendations.The Specialist will produce a draft report on relevant policies, regulations,and practices of the fertilizer sector in Nepal, india and Bangladesh and provide it to the international Fertilizer Policy Specialist for further analysis. S/he will also review and contribute to the final report developed by the International Fertilizer Policy Specialist. Assignment is expected to begin on or about April 1 and include 72 billable days over a 4 to 5 month period.

Qualifications:
• Master degree in Economics, Public Policy, or related field preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years experience working in Nepal in the agriculture and fertilizer sectors.
• Experience in field surveys and quantitative analysis of survey data
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of economic policy and agricultural issues of Nepal including international practices.
• Ability to work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Effective in communicating and working with government entities, donor groups and private organizations.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and other programs required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Nepali and English.
