United Mission to Nepal (UMN) is an international development organisation which strives to address root causes of poverty leading towards fullness of life, as it serves the people of Nepal. Position 1: Programme Officer - Livelihoods - 2 (Dhading and Rupandehi)
Qualification and experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture with at least two years of relevant work experience;
• Sound knowledge of food security issues in Nepal particularly in the Central and Western regions;
• Experience in promotion of income generating activities i.e. seed sector promotion, fresh vegetable production, fisheries, dairy and other off farm employment;
• Working experience in value chain analysis, market mapping and rural entrepreneurship development;
• Knowledge of climate change adaptation, livelihood centred disaster risk reduction and appropriate agriculture technology will have added advantage;
• Proactive, searching out opportunities for influence;
• Social skills necessary to build effective working relationships with a broad range of people;
• Excellent language and communication skills in both Nepali and English.
