Job Position: Program Officer - Innovation and Infrastructure, Hariyo Ban Program
Job Location: Based in Kathmandu

Major Responsibilities: The overall goal of the Hariyo Ban Program (HBP) is to reduce the adverse impacts of climate change and threats to biodiversity in Nepal. The program works in the areas of biodiversity conservation, climate change adaptation, and payments for ecosystem services, particularly REDD+. Under the supervision of the Chief of Party (COP), HBP, the Program Officer-Innovation and Infrastructure is a member of the Hariyo Ban core team, managing HBP's Windows of Opportunity funding program, and the program's work on reducing the adverse impacts of infrastructure development. S/he will provide inputs to HBP's annual work plans for infrastructure, and prepare grants and contracts in support of infrastructure work.The position requires frequent field travel.
Qualifications: Master's degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Development or a related field is required. At least 3 years of experience working in biodiversity conservation, forest or natural resource management, community-based conservation, pro-conservation infrastructure development, climate change adaptation or a similar field is essential. Experience in environmental impact assessment is essential. Experience in grant making is preferred, especially with USAID funding together with experience in gender and social inclusion programming.
