Program Officer Job Vacancy - Rural Education and Development - READ Nepal

Rural Education and Development - READ Nepal partners with rural communities to build Community Libraries and Resource Centers (CLRC) that provide villagers with assist to valuable tools, educational resources, and skills' training that enable them to thrive and prosper in their own communities. CLRC includes a library with thousands of titles for children and adults, computer lab with Internet access, a women's empowerment room, an early childhood development center and a training room. READ also provides seed capital for profit business paired with each CLRC to generate income that sustains the center over the long run. Currently READ Nepal has following position vacant: Position : 

Job Position: ICT Program Officer 
Job Location: Based in READ Nepal Office at Kathmandu

Position Description: 
This position will be based in READ Nepal Office at Kathmandu. The ICT Program Officer will be responsible for carrying out all activities of READ Nepal's ICT Program, including those that will be implemented in READ Centers throughout the country. This position will be responsible for supporting program design, creating various ICT training, conducting community surveying, program implementation, monitoring and evaluation, training, and project reporting. The successful candidate should involve frequent travel within the country to the READ Nepal supported libraries, as well as have to do regular interaction with concern stakeholders and will report to the Country Director Qualification: General 

Qualifications 
- A minimum of two years professional experience in the ICT sector. 
- Experience in successful implementation of a wide range of tasks related to ICT.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and delivering trainings 
- Ability to travel frequently and spend up to several weeks at a time in rural areas 
- Effectiveness in working or volunteering in a non-profit organization that is focused on maintaining high-quality work and a low overhead 
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Nepali and English. 
- Strong computer and information and communications technology (ICT) skills 
- Strong ability to work both as a team and independently; 
- Display energy, enthusiasm, and innovation in problem solving 
- Prior experience delivering or facilitating training workshops

Preferred Qualifications 
- Prior experience living and/or working in rural areas 
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (i.e., computer science, Rural Development) 
- Experience developing and/or implementing computer and ICT initiatives
