An International Non-Government Organization (INGO) working in Nepal to support Ministry of Health and Population in improving maternal newborn child health and nutrition and family planning (MNCH/FP) program, is currently seeking applications from the qualified Nepalese citizens for the Human Resource Officer.
Job Position: Human Resource Officer
Job Location: Based in Kathmandu with frequent travel in country as needed.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Develop and update HR Policies, as needed. Ensure that staff are made aware of these policies and interpret them as necessary or requested by staff.
• Provide advice to staff and supervisors on various HR policies and best practices
• Oversee the recruitment, selection and on boarding of all new staff
• Negotiate salaries with approval from the Country Director
• Develop and coordinate orientation schedules for all new staff
• Prepare and update employment agreements ensuring that they are in keeping with local law and Jhpiego's practices.
• Register and update employment benefits (such as health Insurance).
• Update employee status for payroll purposes.
• Work closely with employee's supervisors for Staff Performance Evaluation and take necessary actions (salary increase, promotions, reassignments and separation of employee).
• Process visa and work permits for expatriate staff
• Process consultant contracts, including rate negotiation.
• Maintain HR data base files (ICIMS) and maintain HR Personnel Files.
• Remind and review staff time sheets every month
• Handle employee grievances
• Ensure that 90 day reviews are conducted appropriately.
• Coordinate all exit procedures for staff leaving.
• Develop and implement employee wellness and work life balance programs for staff.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in HR, administration or related field
• Minimum three years' experience in HR and administrative function
• In depth knowledge of the Nepal labor laws
• Demonstrated ability to exercise confidentiality and professionalism
• Demonstrated excellence in oral and written English
• Ability to communicate effectively, instilling trust and confidence
• Excellent organizational skills including the ability to handle a variety of assignments sometimes under pressure of deadlines.
• Computer skills demonstrating in competency of Microsoft office: Excel, MS word and Power point
• Ability to work independently and to exercise independent judgment
