Job Description
The Information Security Officer (ISO) is responsible for the planning, development of enterprise information security strategy and best practices approach in support of the bank's information security policies and procedures. The ISO shall closely work with senior management, Enterprise IT team and business operation teams to study their information security risks. The ISO shall study the financial, legal, regulatory, and technical risks to the bank's information assets, and develop effective security controls to mitigate this risk.
Key responsibilities of the ISO shall be at least followings:
1. Develop an effective Information Security Strategy of Bank.
2. Revision of Information Security Policies and Procedures as per National Guidelines and International standards. ISO shall collaborate with Information Systems management team to revise/develop and implement security standards and procedures for information system platforms and system environments.
3. Develop and maintain an information security risk management program to assess and mitigate security risks.
4. Develop and conduct an Information Security Awareness Training Program.
5. Support Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery as related to Information Security.
6. Promotes awareness of Information Security Policies and best practices.
7. Follow guidelines and responsibilities stated in Information Security Policies and Procedures of Himalayan Bank Limited.
Academic Qualification, Skills and Experience
1. Masters of Science in Information Systems or Masters in Information Technology.
2. At least 5 years of work experience in Information Systems as a Network Administration and System Management. Preference in experience of working in the organization where Information Security Procedures implemented.
3. Experience with Software Development Life Cycle.
4. Understanding of Operating Systems (e.g., UNIX, Linux, WINDOWS), Databases (e.g., Oracle, MS-SQL), and Programming Languages (e.g., C++, Java, SQL, ASP.NET, HTML).
5. Working knowledge of application security, secure coding, and development tools and practices with expertise in any one or more of the following area: authentication and encryption solutions, web application security, mobile technologies.
6. Knowledge of Information Security, IT Risk and Controls.
7. Knowledge of Information Technology Management Standards, Policies and Practices including Nepal Rastra Banks policies and guideline on Information Security.
8. Professional certification on Information Security (e.g., Certified Information Security Manager - CISM, CISSP, etc.), or willingness to obtain certification within 12-18 months of start date.
9. Strong influencing/negotiation skills as well as written/verbal communication skills.
