Job Vacancy - Social Development and Research center (SDRC)


Social Development and Research center (SDRC) is one of the leading organizations in the sector of social mobilization and community development at local and regional level. It was established in 1994 by registered in the District Administrative Office, Dhanusha and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council, Kathmandu. The organization was established, especially, to work for social and economic upliftment and advancement of the people in the community. SDRC has been focusing its work on disaster risk reduction and management and the upliftment of the disadvantaged groups in the communities.

SDRC invites application from the qualified and experienced Nepali nationals for the various posts for the Oxfam Nepal funded Disaster Risk Management (DRM) project currently running in Dhanusha District.

1.Finance Officer
Job Location: Janakpur

For Finance Officer
Educational Qualification: Minimum bachelor’s degree in management or equivalent from a recognized university. 
Job Specifications:
- More than 3 years of experience in account management in non government organization.
- Experience in general accounting and office administration including dealing with the public.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, power point, E-mail, Internet.
- Excellent ability to type both English and Nepali.
- Good organizational and communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skill in both English and Nepali.

Job Description:
Applicants must be able to carry out the normal office administration and accounting tasks. Under overall guidance and direct supervision of the program Coordinator, the candidate will be responsible for the following administration and accounting function:

- Able to prepare internal and external financial reports of the organization.
- Able to work as per the organization’s finance and administrative rules and regulations and be able to suggest the organization for the amendment if required.
- Handy and sound knowledge and experience of Nepal government’s tax related rules and regulation.
- Should have the sound knowledge on maintaining Inventory and fixed assets records, and procurement processes.
- Maintains all account related document through filing.
- Able to prepare and provide required reports for the audit to the auditor and assist in the audit process.
- Must play a pivotal role in financial risk management within the organization.

Other Specific Requirements:
- Preference will be given to Dalits, women and indigenous.

For Project Officer

Job Location: Based in Janakpur with frequent visits to the related fields.

Educational Qualification: 
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in any discipline or equivalent from a recognized university. 

Job Specifications:
- More than 2 years of experience in Water, sanitation and hygiene promotion (WASH), Disaster Risk Reduction and social development.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, power point, E-mail, Internet and excellent ability to type both English and Nepali.
- Good organizational and communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skill in both English and Nepali.

Job Description:
Applicants must be able to execute the activities on/off the field as per the plan under overall guidance and direct supervision of the program Coordinator; the candidate will be responsible for the following function:

- Able to carry out monitoring, evaluation and supervision of the field level project activities.
- Mobilize social mobilizers and field technician in the field level.
- Able to coordinate regularly with the district level line agencies, stakeholders, partner organizations as well as pay courtesy call.
- Able to manage/handle the project activities such as seminar, workshop independently.
- Able to prepare report, analyze budget and documentation.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Able to prepare report in English.
- Should have sound knowledge on the social, economic, cultural and political issues of Dhanusha District.

Other Specific Requirements:
- Preference will be given to those Dalits and indigenous.
- Only Female needs to apply for this position.
