Senior Program Officer - Civil Engineer Wanted - The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Nepal


The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Nepal, a development and humanitarian INGO, invites application from qualified and competent Nepalese citizens for the following position.

Job Position: Senior Program Officer - Civil Engineer
Grade: 8
Project and Location: Bhutanese Refugee Project under the Regional Office East, Damak
Deadline to apply: April 23, 2013

The position will mainly be responsible for infrastructure (shelter, water supply, sanitation and irrigation), income generation and emergency response and disaster risk reduction. S/he will also be responsible to survey, design, estimate, monitor and report as per requirement of the organization. S/he will report to the Regional Program Coordinator, East. 

Required Education, Skills and Competencies: 
Bachelors degree in civil engineering with four years or Masters Degree in civil engineering with three years of practical experience in the above-mentioned area. S/he is also required to have knowledge and working experience in rights-based approach to development and project cycle management. In addition, gender sensitivity, knowledge on accountability, networking and facilitation skills are additional requirement for the position. The person should have excellent language command both in English and Nepali (written and speaking).
