The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) was founded as a government agency on April 1, 1991, to maximize the effectiveness of Korea's grant aid programs for developing countries by implementing the government's grant aid and technical cooperation programs. KOICA has-been providing development assistance to Nepal since 1991. KOICA is looking for experienced and qualified Nepali nationals to fill the following position. The staff will be based in Kathmandu with occasional travels to the project sites and related fields.
Post Title: Security Advisor
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Collection, analysis and accumulation of information of overall security related matters of Nepal.
2. Briefing and submission of regular and other necessary reports to KOICA Nepal Office.
3. Acting as the focal person during emergencies.
4. Regular security check of the residence of KOICA personnel and preparation of manuals for them.
5. Preparation and simulation for general and specific relocation and evacuation plans for emergencies.
6. Preparation of appropriate manuals charts, maps pertaining the overall security matters.
7. Coordination and liaison with counterparts of other organization such as government organization, security forces and concerned stakeholders.
8. Process the collected information into user-friendly format (e.g. charts/matrixes).
9. Others as directed by the Resident Representative.
10. Prepare security report incidents affecting KOICA personnel, office and assets.
11. Conducts security evaluation and provides advice on security measures for the residence of KOICA personnel, as well as on latest trends and threats to staff safety and security.
12. Provide support in organizing and conducting training courses on security awareness and preparedness, and providing security orientation to newly assigned staff members. Conducts other security briefings as and when required.
Qualifications and Experiences Required
1. Age limit 30 to 45 years old.
2. Nepali citizen, with good health condition for frequent domestic travels to areas that require several days walking.
3. Minimum 10 years of working experience in related fields. Career in Police with official resignation as a DSP - rank officers are encouraged to apply.
4. Have a wide and reliable human network in the security fields.
5. Be fluent in written and spoken English.
6. Have basic-level competency of computer (MS Word, Email, etc.)
Payment & Benefits
Payment and other benefits will be as per the KOICA Nepal Office regulation.
Terms of Contract
The Contract will be for one year from the appointment date.
Contract may be renewed based upon his/her performance.
