Vacancy Announcement - Handicap International (an international non-governmental organisation)


Handicap International (HI) is an international non-governmental organisation specialised in the field of disability. HI Nepal is inviting applications for the following position: 

Job Position: Project Officer - Partnership & Sustainability, Rehabilitation Project 
Position Required: 1
Job profile: Under the supervision of the Deputy Project Manager (Partnership and Sustainability) the Project Officer (Partnership and Sustainability) will be responsible for the effective operational management and strengthening the financial sustainability of the implementing partners:

Key responsibilities: 
• Operational management and monitoring the partnership agreements through day-to-day coordination and liaison with the implementing partners: 
• Monitoring and documenting the partners expenditures and financial reports; 
• Strengthening the partners fund raising capacity and financial management; 
• Implementation, management and Supervision of the national level Initiations/activities and coordination in strengthening the rehabilitation sector,
• Developing relations and coordinating with the rehabilitation service providers, key stakeholders including authorities in Nepal: and 
• Organising the supports and trainings to develop management and institutional capacities of service providers, their network and other key stakeholders. 

Requirements: 
• Graduate degree in Social/Economic Science or in a relevant discipline
 • At least three years' experience of working in INGOs in development projects. Experience in capacity development and liaison with partners; 
• Strong skills in networking, liaison with authorities and multi-disciplinary partners. 
• Knowledge of disability and Community Based Rehabilitation; 
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali.

Conditions, Salary & Benefits: 
• This position is based in Handicap International Programme Office, Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, with up to 50% travel in rural areas of Nepal.

• Duration of the contract is initially for 1 year with possible extension.
