CARE Nepal is an international humanitarian organization working in Nepal for the past 34 years. It currently works in 47 districts through its 15 projects on issues related to improving the lives of the poor and vulnerable and socially excluded populations. Its programs focus on women empowerment, natural resources and equity & justice. CARE Nepal hereby invites applications from the interested candidates for the following positions with Hariyo Ban (HB) Program. The HB Program is a 5-year project and has been effective from August, 2011.

Key responsibilities: The Program Officer is primarily responsible for maintaining and updating the database system in close coordination with the program units and field offices. S/he will be responsible for assisting field team to implement HO annual plan including monitoring and evaluation plan. S/he will report to the Team Leader of the HO Program and will closely work with Thematic Specialists, Field Coordinators, M&E Specialist of HO Program and Impact Measurement and Learning Manager in CARE Nepal's Central Office.
Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Natural Resource Management having at least 3 years of working experience on Monitoring and Evaluation in the field of Forestry, REDD and Climate Change related projects.
Competencies: Strong conceptual understanding on government policies, strategy and program priorities in Natural Resources Management, Biodiversity Conservation, REDD' initiative, Climate Change Adaptation, Gender and Social Inclusion; Strong understanding and experience on project design, M&E methods, processes and tools including result based monitoring: Good training and facilitation skill and relevant experience in advocacy, lobbying and networking, Strong interpersonal communication and documentation skill; Strong understanding of partnership strategies and linkages development: Prior experience in working with I/NGOs and other relevant institutions in the field of Natural Resources Management, Biodiversity Conservation. REDD' initiatives, Climate Change Adaptation and Natural Resources Management; Knowledge and experience to use statistical tools and software packages. This position will be based in Pokhara with frequent field visits.
