Workshop Manager Vacancy - a leading NGO


A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a leading NGO managing their Women's Workshop in Boudha, Kathmandu. You will be managing a team of 9 workshop ladies (later more) who produce textile handicrafts for the international market. 

Job Position: Workshop Manager
Type: Part time position
Remuneration: reasonable local salary + benefits, based on qualifications and experience 

Summary of position: The Workshop Manager is in charge of the Workshop and its staff. He/she acts as the main liaison between the international HQ and Nepal. He/she works under the direct supervision of the Program Director for Nepal. 


Main Duties and Responsibilities 
• Drafling and adhering to the budget. the purchasing of materials, managing stock levels and ensuring that orders reach the customers on time. 
• Marketing of the products abroad and at home and identifying and contacting potential distribution partners. 
• Ensuring quality cheeks are carried out on all incoming and outgoing materials and products 
• Quarterly reporting to the Headquarters 
• Identifying problems to be addressed and initiates corrective action 
• Providing effective management and leadership, and conducting performance and development reviews of staff managed by the job holder, to ensure motivated performance 

Selection Requirements 
• Excellent command of English 
• University Business Degree (Master's preferred) 
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in finance, management or HR is preferred 
• Fully conversant with IT programs 
• Highly developed persuasion, negotiating and interpersonal skills
• Strategic planning and project management skills 
• Capable of managing multiple projects to time and within budget 
• Ability to think strategically with strong analytical, judgment and decision making skills
