Job Position: Health Advisor
Location: Kathmandu based with frequent field visit
Basic salary range: NRs. 40,000 to 45,000 per month

Health is one of UMN's key Technical Areas, focusing on long lasting positive changes in the health of people, especially women and children in resource poor rural communities, through the strengthening of local partner organisations. The post-holder will report directly to the Health Team Leader and is a part of multidisciplinary team of advisors. The main purpose of the job is to manage programmes that focus on community health and provide technical support to community health projects, field officers and partner organisations.
Qualifications
Essential
• Health professional with a Master's in Public Health or Nursing or Social Science with a strong background in heath such as BPH/BN/B.Sc. Nursing Degree
• At least 5 years of similar experience in a health programme
• Reporting and proposal writing skills
• Training, mentoring, coaching and facilitation skills
• Programme planning and budgeting skills
• Supervision and monitoring skills
• Coordination and networking skills
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of health Issues in Nepal
• Enthusiastic, influential, motivating and committed
• Excellent communication skills in Nepali and English
Desirable
• Should have experience of working in a cross-cultural setting
• Experience in developing and using health research
• Working experience in mental health
• Familiar with Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
