Job Vacancy - Nepal Permaculture Group

Nepal Permaculture Group is a national network of organizations and individuals working in the field of Sustainable Agriculture, Sustainable Development and Permaculture in Nepal. Its main function is to act as an umbrella group, linking together the many organization in Nepal with similar objectives. Established in May 1992 with the initiatives of the enthusiastic development workers and farmers of this field, it is also affiliated with IFOAM, IPRI and NAFOS. NPG is registered under the society registration act of Nepal and affiliated with SWC as a national NGO. NPG has 16 organizational members and 996 individual members. With the help of these organizations and other like minded organization, it implements various programmes through networking with emphasis on policy formulation, quality control of trainings and services, research, advocacy and lobbying.Since its establishment, NPG has been working to facilitate and display the on going process of building a sustainable and self reliant society in Nepal by creating a platform to support the cooperation of all activists.

Educational Qualification:
  • Master in Agriculture, Organic Agriculture or Natural resource Management with relevant working experience. Exceptional canditates with Bachelors degree in Agriculture and five years of working candidates may be considered.
Job Specifications:
  • Ability to work independently and deliver quality outputs within timeline
  • Strong communication and facilitation skill
  • A strong skill and ability to develop project and programs concepts
  • Strong report writing skill in both English and Nepali
  • Provide clear guidance to the sub-ordinate staffs
  • Presentation and briefing skills to internal and external audiences
  • Ability /willingness to work under pressure
Job Description:
  • Liaise with GOs / (I) NGOs, donors and organizations working in  similar field
  • Coordination and networking with individual members and  member organizations
  • Develop methods and techniques to encourage planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, documentation and report preparation
  • Represent the organisation and enhance visibility
Other Specific Requirements:
  • The position will be based in Kathmandu and requires seldom travel to the field.
