Job Opportunity - FHI 360 Nepal

FHI 360 Nepal is seeking highly qualified and dynamic Nepali citizens to join its team working on the 5-year HIV/FP Project for the following position:

Job Position: Surveillance and Research Specialist
No. of Vacancies – 1 position
Location: based in Kathmandu

Responsibilities:
The Surveillance and Research Specialist (SRS) will be responsible for providing support to the Senior Surveillance and Research Specialist (SSRS), for providing technical and strategic leadership to carry out surveillance and research related work in close collaboration with key stakeholders such as NCASC, FHD, HIV Board, NHRC, WHO, GFATM PRs, UNAIDS and USAID. The SRS will provide ongoing support to SSRS for the conceptualization, implementation and reporting of research studies, and assist with the in-depth analysis of FP and HIV related epidemiological, research and program process data.

Minimum Required Qualification and Skills:
Master’s Degree in Public Health or Epidemiology, statistics or related social science and three years minimum work experience in research, monitoring and evaluation, statistics or bachelor’s degree and minimum five years of relevant experience is preferred. Skills and experience in program management, field research, complex further/data analysis, operations research, disease surveillance, data utilization, publications, program assessments, training, facilitation or NGO capacity building will be an asset.

Skills/Qualities:
Strong negotiation, coordination, communication and interpersonal skills (diplomacy, patience, proactive and independent approach to work with willingness to undertake additional responsibilities, ability to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure, ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain positive working relationships, resourceful in resolving problems and initiating solutions and fluency in English and Nepali (spoken, written, typing).
