Gurkha Development Bank (Nepal) Limited has been in operation for more than 6 years with a network of 22 branches spread across the country. After declaration of a "Problematic Financial Institution" by Nepal Rastra Bank on Chaitra 11, 2067, the bank has been operating under exceptional conditions where it can't accept fresh deposit, renew existing deposit, flow out new loans and advances and need to take prior approval from Nepal Rastra Bank for hiring new staffs.
The Bank has been recovering and is striving to get release of the "Problematic Financial Institution" tag from Nepal Rastra Bank.
