National Consultant Vacancy - Enhancing Access to Financial Services Project (EAFS)

Enhancing Access to Financial Services Project (EAFS) is a joint project of the Nepal Rastra Bank (Central Bank of Nepal), UNCDF and UNDP. The project supports the efforts of 17 financial institutions in scaling up, deepening and broadening the outreach to remote areas and low income households (especially poor youth and excluded groups), in a sustainable fashion. By 2012, with the funding and technical support from UNCDF and UNDP, the project efforts will lead to additional 330,000 unbanked individuals joining the financial sector.

In an effort to expand financial services to the very poor NRB - EAFS project will undertake a pilot initiative to facilitate inclusion of very poor micro entrepreneurs into the financial mainstream.To that end, NRB - EAFS project is looking for a national consultant with expertise in developing microfinance financial products. This product will be piloted in partnership with one microfinance institution in Nepal under NRB - EAFS portfolio.
