Job Vacancy in International Organization for Migration (IOM)


The International Organization for Migration is seeking qualified Nepali Nationals for the following position based in Kathmandu.

Position Title: On-call Radiologist 
Type of Contract: Consultant Contract

General functions: Under the overall supervision of Chief Migration Health Physician and direct technical supervision from the IOM International Radiologist, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following specific duties: 

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. Interpret all digital chest X-rays (CXRs) assigned to her/him and other X-Rays films, correctly identifying radiological signs of TB and other incidental findings and report the results classifying the findings in accordance with the country specific X-ray reporting forms and the technical guidelines of the resettlement countries. 
2. Assess quality of chest radiographs to meet optimal diagnostic criteria and make sure that the quality of the films corresponds to the required standards. Request for repeat CXR when the CXR is suboptimal and appropriate additional view when additional views is needed. 
3. Assess follow-up radiographs of patients on anti-TB treatment, re-medical, referrals and PDMS (pre-departure medical screening) CXRs and do comparison with previous CXR and report the change.
4. Use eMedical and eHealth websites for Canada and Australia cases; correctly and timely submit the CXR reports. Properly use UKTB global website for reporting CXRs under UKTB program. 
5. When there is a need for further imaging write the recommendation for further imaging in the remark part of the reporting and discuss with the panel physician when needed. 
6. Discuss the findings of the CXR images with panel physicians as needed and when the panel physicians get back with queries. 
7. Coordinate and communicate with the international 10M Radiologist for any second opinion on CXR reporting, in issues related to managing the unit and to advice changes. 
8. Coordinate and guide the Radiographers and the Medical Clerk in the unit for CXR quality. smooth workflow and timely clerical works like CD burning, uploading images to eldedical and eHealth, delivery of the reports. 
9. Perform other related tasks as needed. 

Required Qualifications and Competencies: 
1. Bachelor degree in Medicine (MBBS) and/ or medical doctorate degree ( MD).
2. Post graduate degree in Radiology, certificate obligatory.
3. Minimum 3 years of Experience in Radiology. 
4. Thorough knowledge of the natural history, radiological and clinical presentation of tuberculosis required. 5. Experience in staff administration and management is advantage. 
6. Experience in data analysis and management an advantage. 
7. Ability to report large number of Radiographs daily in the time frame with quality. 
8. Computer literacy and ability to write clearly and concisely.
