Job Vacancy - Helen Keller International (HKI)


Founded in 1915, Helen Keller International (HKI) is among the oldest international nonprofit organizations devoted to fighting and treating preventable blindness and malnutrition. HKI is headquartered in New York City, and has programs in 22 countries in Africa and Asia as well as in the United States. HKI builds local capacity by establishing sustainable programs, and provides scientific and technical assistance and data to governments and international, regional, national and local organizations around the world.

HKI programs combat malnutrition, cataract, trachoma, onchocerciasis (river blindness) and refractive error. The goal of all HKI programs is to reduce suffering of those without access to needed health or vision care and ultimately, to help lift people from poverty. 

Helen Keller International (HKI), an international NGO working in nutrition and food security, now in partnership with the five year USAID-funded SUAAHARA program, invites qualified Nepalese citizens to apply for the following SUAAHARA position:
 
Post Title: Cluster Agriculture Officer
No. of vacancies: 2 positions

 Detailed Job Description / Requirements:

- Develop and oversee a detailed plan of action for Suaaharas agriculture and livestock activities
- Provide technical assistance to local NGOs implementing the homestead food production (HFP) component of the project
- Coordinate HFP field activities with all project partners, including district agriculture and livestock officers
- Facilitate linkages between the district agriculture, livestock and health offices to integrate the agriculture and nutrition components of the project
-  Provide technical support for the establishment of village model farms and community brooding centers in the project area
- Coordinate for documentation of changes due to HFP interventions
- Frequent field visit to districts in the regional clusters.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Agriculture & Livestock from a recognized university
- At least 4 years experience in implementing agriculture, livestock or food security related programs
