Gazaab Social Ventures is a Micro-social Venture Capital
Fund that is dedicated to the creation and support of social entrepreneurs at the
Bottom of the Pyramid. Since 2009, Gazaab has funded almost to 30 enterprises in grants and
investments across Nepal
& India.
To achieve this, Gazaab’s operations have focused on a unique rural business
competition tool kit, where it provides entrepreneurs with developmental
workshops, expert mentoring, professional networking and essential funding.

The entrepreneurs of Nepal’s tomorrow are crucial to the long term development of the country. Business consultants at Gazaab are an important part of molding the future entrepreneurs who will make an impact in the local communities. Be part of an innovative and international team that organizes business competitions for potential entrepreneurs and develop a close working relationship with them to help them on their entrepreneurship journey. Business consultants will also have the chance to work with partner NGOs and network with successful local Nepali entrepreneurs who will be part of our network. This is an intellectually challenging job in an innovative forward looking company with fulfilling social impacts.
Key responsibilities include:
• Organizing and conducting business competitions
• Maintaining financial statements of all businesses, which include
o Visiting the entrepreneurs and ensuring books are maintained as per Gazaab’s specifications
o Maintaining and submitting required financial statements at the end of every month to the head office
o Ensuring Gazaab’s own financial records are kept in an orderly and timely fashion
• Management of investment process
- Which include investment disbursement
- Calculation of profitability,
- Analysis of business plans & Teams
- Prepare and present detailed investment documentation
• Manage existing investments
– facilitate strategic management support to help
investees achieve their business targets and objectives.
- Provide entrepreneurs with business guidance
- Providing entrepreneurs with access to local markets and networks essential for their businesses.
- Linking Gazaab’s mentors and entrepreneurs if there is a potential synergy for collaboration
- Follow up with portfolio entrepreneurs on a weekly basis for mentoring and guidance, including formulating strategies and action plans for the entrepreneurs.
Position Requirements:
Candidates for the Business Consultant role should have a passionate commitment to solving the problems of poverty, strong entrepreneurial spirit and excellent analytical and management skills. Strong candidates will also have a good understanding of the local markets and the local economy and be familiar with the operating businesses in Nepal. They will have strong organizational skills and an ability to manage and deliver projects independently as well as manage a range of investment portfolios.
Additionally, the candidates should ideally have:
• Strong entrepreneurial drive to turn ideas into high quality finished products through adequate risk taking and innovation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with focus on strong presentation abilities.
• Strong financial analysis and commercial transaction skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to manage relationship with all stakeholders of Gazaab Social Ventures.
• Excellent accounting knowledge and experience in preparing financial statements.
• Ability to manage a portfolio of investment including experience in turn around situations.
• Commitment to accuracy; attention to detail and follow-through.
• Commitment to and enthusiasm for the organization’s mission and business model.
• Fluent in English and Nepali. Other languages a plus.
• Experience in consulting or doing business
